Intro to Musical Theater
This class is offered to expose students to musical theater as a whole. Within the course of this hour long class, students will practice jazz based dance technique, acting elements for the stage such as projection, concentration, and improvisation, as well as vocal and diction skill exercises. Musical Theater classes practice a show piece from a famous musical for a period of 6-8 weeks. In-class performances shown in costume, are a fun way to showcase what the students have been practicing and then its on to a new show piece! This class does require uniform attire.
For kids who love to be on stage and are ready to learn more about acting, our Actor’s Workshops are a great way to gain a more in-depth experience! Is your child ready to transition from your school play to something more serious perhaps? These workshops vary in style and in length and may focus on an element of acting such as improv, scene study or auditions or it could be a workshop play performance. Rehearsal is 1-2 times per week and the workshop Plays are 30-60 minutes in length and are performed with costumes that the school provides. Perfect for your budding actor who is ready to be seen and heard!
Got a little one whose whole world revolves around pretending to be a pirate or a princess? Creative Acting allows for 4 and 5 year olds to join in on the fun as well! Students are encouraged to “pretend” each week and recreate familiar stories, as well as other fun elements of theater such as puppets and masks!
